Temple Fillers – Cosmetic Injectables from Skin6

Have you noticed fine lines and wrinkles appearing on your face in the mirror? Have you found your face losing volume, looking saggy and looking older than you really are?

Luckily, for those of us hoping to fill lines, add shape to our faces, and restore our youthful glow, there are dermal fillers.

What are Temple Fillers?

Dermal fillers are safe and synthetic substances created to improve facial features’ hollowing look and smooth the creases that accrue with age and repetitive facial emotions.

Temple fillers are injections that return volume, facial symmetry, and rejuvenation to the temples *small area of the forehead adjacent to the eyes). Temple fillers can improve drooping brows, jowls and contour the face. It is made using a synthetic version of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a substance naturally found occurring in the body.

HA can provide hydration and add tension, structure, and flexibility to the injected tissue.

The Benefits of Temple Fillers

Facelift Results With No Surgery

Temple filler cosmetic injections are a great choice for someone who is looking for the benefits of a facelift without the downsides of surgery.

Dermal fillers are a safe and effective, non-surgical, cosmetic procedure that requires no surgical preparation, no invasive cutting, no stitches, no downtime, and no hefty price tag.

In fact, temple fillers are so quick they are known as a lunchtime procedure, as you can simply pop-in mid day, have your treatment session done, and pop out within the hour to return to your day.

Natural Look

Cosmetic injections have a broad spectrum of results, and we do our part to ensure you get the look you envision.

While some patients come in with the goal of celebrity-sized lips and model cheekbones, others prefer a subtle, more natural approach that helps enhance their natural beauty. You will still look like you, just smoother, firmer, and younger-looking.

Boost Skin Firmness

The natural ageing process causes collagen and elastin to break down and not regenerate the same as it would in your younger years.

It also causes loss of volume and tension in the skin without the natural support structure functioning as it once did.

The addition of temple dermal fillers allows the skin to firm up, triggers collagen production, and provides a renewed look of tension and youth.

Long-Lasting

While plastic surgery options are a permanent decision, dermal fillers also offer long lasting results.

An hour of dermal fillers will typically provide you between 12-24 months of refreshed-looking facial freedom. The effects do begin to wear off, so maintenance is required so long as you wish to maintain the same look.

Temple Fillers in Toronto: Our Procedure

When booking any dermal filler appointment in our beauty clinic, we will first meet with you to see if you are indeed a candidate for temple fillers. We will conduct an in-depth health history and ask you about any allergies, medications, and previous surgeries.

We will also discuss your aesthetic goals, procedure preparation and aftercare.

When you come in for cosmetic injections, we will start by reviewing how much filler you’d like injected and where. Then, we will apply a numbing agent (lotion or gel) to reduce any pain from the procedure. The numbing agent will reach its effectiveness within 15-30 minutes as you relax in our luxury clinic.

Once the numbing is complete, we will utilize fine needles to inject into the skin and release the filler into the treatment areas. You may notice a sting or pinching sensation when the needle pierces the skin, but it is generally not painful. The injections are repeated until the area is filled to your specifications.

Afterwards, we will monitor you for a short time to look for any immediate reactions or side effects and provide cold packs to soothe the area and reduce any redness, swelling, or pain that may arise.

Please note, some side effects are common and include: red, swelling, pain, bruising, or mild skin reactions. They are self-limiting and should resolve within 1-2 weeks of treatment.

There are more serious risk factors and side effects to look out for, including infection, asymmetry of the face, bleeding, lump under the skin, numbness, and moderate to severe allergic reactions, including rash, itching, and hives.

In rare cases, in the treatment region, people have suffered vision loss and necrosis, also known as tissue death.

It is important to know while these are rare, they are serious and require immediate medical attention.

How to Prepare for Temple Fillers

Before booking an appointment for dermal fillers, we advise you to wait if you are breastfeeding or pregnant. It is also necessary to avoid fillers if you are allergic to any filler ingredients or numbing agents used in the procedure.

A thorough conversation with us and your healthcare provider will help to determine if you are a candidate or better off with another type of treatment.

If we have determined you are a good fit, you can help prepare for your treatment by:

  • Bringing with you a list of current medications, vitamins, and supplements to discuss, along with disclosing any current medical and healthcare concerns.
  • Take an antiviral prior to your appointment if you have a history of cold sores, as the needles may reactivate dormant viruses.
  • Avoid any dental appointments and vaccinations for the two weeks prior and two weeks post-treatment.
  • Avoid pain medications, fish oils, alcohol, green tea, and other substances we may list for the week leading up to your appointment. Tylenol is the best pain reliever to take if necessary.
  • Two days before your fillers, cease the use of products containing retinoids, glycolic acid, and exfoliants found in anti-ageing skincare lines.
  • Avoid hair removal in the treatment area.
  • Speak to us if you are prone to bruising and skin sensitivity to get suggestions to prep the skin before the treatment date.

Aftercare for Temple Fillers Toronto

It’s important to follow any aftercare instructions provided to you by our specialists. This is to minimize side effects and maximize optimal results.

We ask that you refrain from using makeup, engaging in vigorous exercise or activity, and avoiding touching the area for 24-48 hours. It is best to sleep face up, and avoid putting any pressure on the area for the first few days.

We suggest washing your hand and then gently your temples to reduce the chance of debris and bacteria causing infection in the treatment area. Ice packs may be used for symptom reduction and comfort if okayed by your treatment specialist.
